Yesterday, Trump’s former chief of staff, Retired Marine Gen. John Kelly told the New York Times that Trump is “the general definition of a fascist.” He called Trump’s leadership “dictatorial” and recounted how he would repeatedly praise Adolf Hitler while in office. The people who know Trump best are telling us that another Trump administration would be dangerous for our democracy, our lives, and our bodies.
John Kelly is sending a clear warning—and we need to listen.
Trump’s only goal is holding on to power, including appointing judges who ignore the constitution, taking away reproductive freedom, and threatening to prosecute and punish anyone who disagrees with him. And recent Supreme Court decisions from conservative justices pave the way for Trump to get away with it. We can’t let that happen.
